Personal Comfort
Clothing
Personal comfort is key to a successful tree lot shift. You will spend your entire shift outdoors, so proper dress is important.
- Dress in layers. Air trapped between layers is a great insulator and it is much eaiser to cool down by removing a layer than it is to warm up if you don't have enough.
- Wear proper footwear. The tree lot often has deep snow and can become quite muddy. Hiking boots are a minimum, winter boots are recommended, especially in deep snow. Wool socks with a lighter base layer (such as polypropaline) are also recommended.
- Remember your hat and gloves.
Facilities
Remember, there are no rest rooms available during tree sale shifts. Please plan accordingly before you arrive.
