The Great Outdoors Awaits
From thrilling campouts to challenging treks, experience the heart of scouting in the natural world.

Learning and Growing in Nature’s Classroom
At Tay House Troop 19, we wholeheartedly embrace the scouting tradition that “three-quarters of Scouting is ‘outing’.” We believe the outdoors provides an unparalleled environment for learning, building character, and fostering camaraderie. Our diverse range of outdoor experiences allows scouts to develop essential skills, challenge themselves physically and mentally, and create lasting memories.
Our Regular Campouts
Throughout the year, Tay House scouts participate in at least five campouts, each offering unique opportunities for exploration and skill development. These outings provide hands-on experience in camping basics, teamwork, cooking outdoors, and appreciating the natural world around us. From local campgrounds to more adventurous locations, our campouts are a cornerstone of the Troop 19 experience.

Summer Camp in the Adirondacks
A highlight of the Tay House year is our annual two-week summer camp in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. This extended experience offers an immersive opportunity for scouts to delve deeper into outdoor skills, earn merit badges in a natural setting, and forge strong bonds with their fellow scouts. The Adirondacks provide a stunning backdrop for unforgettable adventures and personal growth.r list item. Remember to let your readers know why this list item is essential.
