Scouts meet every Monday at 7:30 – 9:00 pm in the Tay House Lodge following the school calendar. Occasional meetings are held away from the lodge for various activities, including fitness nights, swim nights, climb nights, and visits to the fire department. The troop has campouts every month, September through June, except for November and December. Some months, the camp out is turned into a special trip, like water rafting, a visit to Boston, and trips to a National park! Take a look at past trips here.

No, you don’t have to be a cub scout to join the troop! Any boy can join as long as they are 11 years old or older.

Although the troop has specific open nights announced in our Events, you can visit the troop any Monday night at 7:30 pm. We recommend checking our program ahead of time, as meetings are occasionally held elsewhere. You can also contact the troop to learn about the best night to join a meeting.

No, Tay House Troop 19 is a boy led troop, assisted by adult leaders. Most of these adult leaders are troop alumni, contributing to over 100 years of tradition.

Parents involvement is through the troop’s parent committee. The committee meets one Monday each month, 7:45 pm – 8:45 pm.

Tay House’s fundraising campaign occurs in November-December through the Wreath Sale and Tree Sale. This fundraising helps cover the cost of all regular campouts, and most of the cost of any special trips for the scouts. For more information about the fundraising, please visit this link.
