Scout Banks

Scouts receive a portion of the proceeds from each wreath that they sell during the Holiday Wreath Sale. This money is deposited in a scout bank that the scout can use toward the cost of any scouting-related activities.  In order to use these funds, the scout must have worked his required number of tree lot shifts.

Scouting-related activities include the following:

  • Tay House dues
  • Summer scout activities (Massawepie, Philmont, Algonquin)
  • Scout trips (“Super Trips,” other special trips, parent/son campouts)
  • National and World Jamborees
  • Eagle projects or other scout service projects
  • Merit Badge University or other council activities
  • Other scout-related activities with the approval of the troop treasurer and/or finance committee

Any funds remaining in the scout's bank upon leaving Tay House will revert to the troop's general fund.
