A Century of Local Scouting 1919-2019

Centennial Celebration

On June 14 and 15, 2019, Tay House welcomed many of our alumni and friends to join us in celebrating the troop's 100th anniversary. The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with our June Court of Honor, recognizing the achievements of our scouts during the second half of the 2018-2019 scouting year.

On Saturday afternoon we relived a bit of Tay House history, hosting a carnival in homage to the fundraising carnivals the troop held between 1938 and 1968. In addition to the carnival, the cabin was open with lots of photos and memorabilia on display for guests to peruse and reminisce.

The festivities culminated on Saturday evening with a gala diner held at the Burgundy Basin Inn. More than 200 guests, including alumni, parents, and longtime friends of the troop joined us to rekindle old friendships, build new ones, and share the stories that make Tay House unique.

We want to thank everyone who helped make the weekend special, including our alumni who travelled from near and far to join us, our scouts and parents for helping make the carnival a huge success, and especially, our sponsors and the centennial committee whose support and hard work made the weekend possible.
